One Myth that did not impact the growth of the west was that the North believed the South was using land growth as an attempt to bring back slavery. However, the wild west impacted the growth of the west by the economic system and the mythical view of a cowboy. Therefore the myths of the wild west impacted the west as systems and heroic figures helped with the growth.
The myth of the cowboy impacted the growth of the west. As the heroic figure of a white man riding on a horse through the plains of the land was foreseen, it was most likely not true. To start it off, the first cowboys were not white, they were spanish. These men had a hard economic life, who rode in long hours from their destinations, and most likely did not have a home. The image of a cowboy in the west was falsely portrayed as the 1880’s were mostly deserted and cleaned of American Indians. The myth however, impacted the west with the growth in hope that the myth could be true. ![]()
